Greetings again. Things have been quiet (too quiet!) lately. I'm
assuming that people still are interested, and that maybe another BOF
will kick people into action, like the last time.

Here is a proposed agenda; does it seem reasonable for discussion?

Proposed agenda:

Overview of what has happened at the last BOF and the mailing list (10 minutes)

Current proposals (15 minutes each):
ACE on the LHS always
UTF-8 on the LHS, protected by ESMTP
UTF-8 in all headers, protected by ESMTP
Address mapping in the MUA

Where to go next (30 minutes)

Interest in MailNG? (rest of time)

Paul,

It seems reasonable, but see notes below...

FWIW, draft-klensin-emailaddr-i18n-02.txt (implicitly) and
draft-klensin-emailaddr-i18n-02.txt (to be posted RSN) are
"UTF-8 on both the LHS and RHS" (e.g., whole address), and, now
"UTF-8 in all headers, all protected by ESMTP". I think that
case is not covered (quite) above.

You should think about whether
draft-klensin-email-envelope-00.txt (of which you have seen a
preliminary version) ought to be discussed under "MailNG" or in
some other context, independent of this BOF. I am sending it
off this evening for I-D posting, so others should be able to
see (and retch at) it soon.

Also, for anyone planning to schedule this, if it would be
useful to have me there, it needs to be Monday or Tuesday, or
maybe first thing Wednesday, only. After that, I'm on my way to
Rome for the other half of my IETF life.

regards,
john
